By the will of the Fates, this American university student landed a work-study position in Sana’a, Yemen, working to help open a new college by fall of 2008. I will be here for one year, hopefully after which my Arabic will be stellar. I hope to write lots and take good fotos. I will write a real ‘about me’ page soon.

What a wonderfully interesting place to spend a year. I spent about five days in Yemen back in February 2005 and I would love to go back. I’ve been studying Arabic since 1999, but I still had plenty of difficulty with the Yemeni dialect. Good luck with your studies.
